Emma, wound healing with the help of the companion laser

Emma is a 2 year old pitbull. She suffered significant 3rd and 4th degree burns. She is an example of how quickly wounds can heal with the help of the companion laser. Treatment was from July 7th to August 9th. Most wounds like this would take months to heal.

25 years of Accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association

We Did It Again!
We are very proud to announce that we have been accredited by the American Animal Hospital  Association. We have maintained this status for over 25 years. AAHA accredited hospitals voluntarily choose to be evaluated on 900 standards. Hospitals accredited by AAHA must demonstrate an exceptional level of medical care and client service and they are re-evaluated every three years to make sure they are keeping up with industry updates.

Companion Laser Therapy

We’ve been using it after elective surgeries, injuries such as disc disease, sprains, strains, and to reduce the pain and inflammation of skin wounds and ear infections. Additionally, our older pets are enjoying increased mobility while requiring less medication. The treatments are quick, painless, and often result in noticeable improvement after just one treatment.
Laser therapy speeds healing by calling on the body’s own natural healing techniques, such as increasing blood flow to the injured area and carry away waste products, by releasing pain-killing endorphins, lessening scar tissue, reducing nerve pain, and to combat tissue infections.

Dr. Carrie Wright

Dr. Wright graduated in 1999 from Colorado State University and has recently relocated to Reno from Las Vegas to enjoy the many outdoor activities and better weather! In the hospital setting, she loves dentistry, surgery, and internal medicine. She shares her non work life with husband, two small boys who keep her running, two dogs, a cat, and a bird – hopefully another cat soon (but don’t tell her husband!) Plus, she enjoys hiking, biking, camping, yoga, and scrapbooking. She will be seeing patients Wednesday thru Friday.
